On Palm Sunday, Christian worshipers celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, an event that took place the week before the Lord's death and resurrection. Perhaps youve never asked Jesus to change you by His great work. Again, the Jewish people of Jesus day thought that Jesus was coming to deal judgment to the bad guys. There is actually a biblical reason that we call this Palm Sunday. The last act of the drama begins. We dont celebrate Palm Sunday because were in Florida, and palm trees surround us. God owed us nothing.
There was a big crowd in Jerusalem that day. And according to the Pharisees, this was a problem. They were thinking that Jesus might very well be this Messiah. It was at Passover time, when many Jews from the countryside would be there celebrating this special feast. All were fulfilled with Christ our Messiah. Im not being flippant. The palm cross of this day of acceptance of our Lord and yet, it is an empty cross. Death will be no more; grief, crying, and pain will be no more, because the previous things have passed away.
